At Dr. Jetske Ultee Skincare we take sustainability very seriously. In 2019 we signed The New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, an initiative by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. The organisation’s vision is supported by three key actions: eliminate, innovate and circulate. For Dr. Jetske Ultee Skincare this means that we try to eliminate single-use plastics, use recyclable packaging and use recycled packaging. Of course, we know changes are not made overnight. So we have set goals to help us make our packaging 100% reusable, recyclable, recycled or compostable by 2025. We have not only made a commitment towards reducing plastic waste, but also towards improving other aspects that we think make our company more sustainable. Discover all our commitments.
Reducing waste
We believe in reducing waste throughout our whole supply chain, not just in the packaging of our products. This means we work with our suppliers to determine what their plans are to reduce and eliminate plastics and also encourage them to innovate. Furthermore, we are constantly looking for more sustainable packaging and ways to eliminate unnecessary use of plastics. It is a great challenge, but we are willing to take it on.

“As a brand owner who loves exploring the world and is inspired by other cultures, their wisdom and knowledge, I will do anything to make my brand and products as environmentally friendly as possible to preserve the world for the generations yet to come.”
We changed the filling material used in the boxes we send to our customers to 100% biodegradable chips made of corn starch. In 2020, this resulted in a reduction of our plastic consumption by 2100 kg. The 100% biodegradable corn chips dissolve in contact with water you can dispose of them with the green waste.
We are currently testing sending Dr. Jetske Ultee’s book All About Your Skin without plastic wrapping. With this, we expect to save 24 kg of plastic on an annual basis and to eliminate almost all single-use plastics.
Free of chargeCO2 compensation
We are aware that shipping packages generates CO2 emissions, which are harmful to the environment. That is why we have chosen to compensate the CO2 emission caused by sending your package. Free of charge of course!
In 2020 we have started compensating for CO2 emissions caused by sending packages by post. Since then, we have compensated about 56 tons of CO2
Since the end of 2019 we also compensate for CO2 emissions caused by printing Dr. Jetske Ultee’s book All About Your Skin.
FSC certified paper
We use FSC labelled paper and packaging to ensure our materials come from responsible sources. The Forest Stewardship Counsel (FSC) is an international organisation with a mission to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world's forests. This admirable mission emerged from the global concern for tropical deforestation.
For returning customers the printed Instructions for Use are optional, saving 540 kg of paper annually.
